Church groups require oversight by the minister, and Church groups may be hugely diverse. It might therefore seem to be a complicated business to initiate them and keep them all going. However, there are a few basic principles a minister applies to all. Without thinking about it too carefully, focus on a wonderful God and Saviour, strong Biblical and spiritual content, drawing on the group for spiritual enrichment and practical proposals, constancy of the programme, a vision bigger than oneselves, irrepressible (not sentimental) optimism in God, timely encouragement from the minister. These all belong together -- they may be summed up in the first point. OBSERVATION: These points may seem fairly obvious, though they are not obvious to all. Readers might wish to suggest more.
