In a meeting I was severely, publicly criticised by the Church treasurer today, of my old city Church, for putting up some two minutes' audio on the Internet (elsewhere on this blog). Most formal meetings in which I am involved, I record, which is lawful -- by which I mean to say: I reveal very little. I could cause no end of scandal, but I have no wish to do so. I revealed those two-plus minutes because they were vital, critical -- it was a focused, well considered move -- even if putting it up should be to my personal detriment and pain. The audio spotlighted the fact that the Church, with millions upon millions of rands wrapped up in it, had dismantled crucial financial accountability.
