There are newspaper headlines this morning: "Democratic Alliance Totters". This is South Africa's official opposition. Yet I don't see an analysis that coincides with mine. I see a dynamic that one sometimes finds in the Congregational Church in particular. If this were a Congregational Church in a normal phase, one would have said to the party's now
ex-leader: "Come, Mmusi, let's complement your weaknesses, strengthen
your hand, project a spirit of support, augment your skills," and so on. But the Democratic Alliance has had an adversarial relationship with its leadership. The fact that this is Black leadership just makes it worse. OBSERVATION: In the Congregational Church, the good dynamic fails where people do not have experience in Congregationalism, or do not understand its principles, where their character tends to be dictatorial, or where they fail to see God. The good dynamic is also present through change, which is why I do not speak of two sides even in that.
