Gratitude

I said to a bishop this morning that it is an unsettling phase for me. I have done years of work on a metaphysic, a grand philosophical work. Will people now endorse it? The signs are good -- better than I anticipated. Yet all along, through years of developing my work, there is one person who has been special to me. I send her bound copies of my progress -- not for endorsement or comment or sponsorship, but simply out of gratitude. She is an industrialist, a member of the B20 behind the G20, one of two persons (the only one remaining) who lent me a big hand in the past. I haven't told her yet, but there's a bound copy of my work on its way to her now.
