Yesterday, my magnetometer was re-published by the British, in Practical Electronics. People ask, what is a magnetometer for? This is what the publisher listed (you may click on it to enlarge, on the right). OBSERVATION: Some people think first of finding treasure. However, with this device, this may be problematic, precisely because of its sensitivity. I tested it at the ocean side, and on the mountain. It was (almost) overwhelmed by magnetism in the ocean, and magnetism in the mountain. There will be search sites, however, where there is no background magnetism, where it would perform much better than a typical metal detector. Yet if one finds what it is good for, it will do some things that few if any other electronic projects would.
