Ministry Over Ten Days

Some years ago, I sketched what ministry involved over ten days. I jotted down just the appointments and paperwork over those days:
• I led five services and meetings
• I spoke with twenty-one people about “crisis” appointments
• I took on thirteen, and deferred or declined eight
• I wrote up seventy-three pages of sermons, agendas, and so on
• I wrote fifty-four Church-related e-mails and letters
OBSERVATION: This was just appointments and paperwork, and didn't include office time, regular visitation, looking in on groups, study time, and so on. It gives some idea of what ministers do.
