Thinking on yesterday's post about spiritual gifts, what matters in the Church is one's gifting from God, not one's wealth, age, status, race, and so on. While it might make worldly sense, Churches make a mistake when they favour people for anything but their gifting -- in fact, it is more basic than that. One favours them for the fact that they are Spirit-filled, even before one speaks of gifts. OBSERVATION: It is counter-productive to work on any other basis in a Church, and I have seen that often enough. People think they are moving forwards when they are moving backwards.
