In less than 24 hours, I witnessed some chaos where I am, in the townships. Criminals raided a group of townships, including ours, and caused damage through the length and breadth of them. Two locks on my car were ruined -- or so it seemed, until I got them working again. My brother-in-law, who is with me, had one lock truly destroyed, and a window smashed. Many others were affected. Then a reckless driver ripped past us in a pickup, swerved, and before our eyes, a man came off the back and hit the tar -- and he was still. For a moment, I was frozen in shock, but I was the first at the scene. I said: "Are your bones OK? Check. Muscles, ligaments? Check. Is your head OK? Check. Don't get up too fast." He was bloodied all over, but he seemed OK. I said to him: "This is a grace." (I hurt my elbow while helping him).
