Rolling blackouts are not helping, in South Africa. Businesses are losing billions of rands. I was finalising a philosophy submission tonight, to go up in a few hours' time -- cross-checking with people, too -- when the power went down. I completed my work by candlelight and posted it through a radio router. It is no doubt not critical work, but one can do without this. Yesterday the radio router wouldn't work either. My guess: the nearby radio mast was overloaded as the city's fibre network went down. OBSERVATION: I do have the ability to power up my office off a diesel battery -- I just need to hook it all up first.
