It remains to be seen whether Coronavirus will invade our autumn in Southern Africa. There are three perspectives I have encountered repeatedly here.
• We have a very different situation to, say, China or New Zealand. Distancing and isolation would seem to be near impossible. Many say that distancing and isolation are marks of privilege.OBSERVATION: There is a different attitude to death in Africa. Death is a constant companion, not an enemy to defeat at all costs.
• One often hears here that Coronavirus has come with a purpose. It has a task to do -- which is to take away certain people, only God knows who and why.
• I have read reports that Coronavirus has been called God's curse on wealthy nations. Yet one finds quite the opposite attitude here: God loves Africa, so He has largely spared her until now.
