Ministry Crippled and Renewed

A minister told me that he lost eight members of staff at the same time. He attributed it to one troublemaker who destroyed the spirit on his team. This was and is a mature minister, sincere, long-serving, competent -- and his Church had disciplinary procedures in place. I was somewhat surprised -- and yet I think that such matters are never predictable or “humanly manageable”. Spiritual warfare never is. OBSERVATION: I once lost five Church leaders at the same time -- although my Church was smaller than the above (the reason these leaders provided: theological drift, on their part). In my situation, this led to a renewed Church over a period of about two years. The experience of the minister above also led to a renewed Church. But such things can cripple a ministry for years.
