At the left is my laptop memory card of 1987. On the right is my laptop memory card of 2020. Both were the smallest cards I could buy at the time. My 2020 memory card holds
half a million times more data than my 1987 memory card (16 GB vs. 32 KB). One could write to my 32 KB card quite quickly, but It took 20 minutes to delete.
OBSERVATION: Today it sounds like a joke, but it is quite true! It was an erasable programmable read-only memory or EPROM.
