I forget which year it was. My late wife Mirjam and I had visited Hungary. She decided to return to Switzerland (her parental home) through Austria, while I decided to take the route through the Balkans. I soon realised that something was wrong. For instance, there was only one other passenger with me on the train -- and when I found lodgings for the night, I saw this sign in he lobby. OBSERVATION: I had travelled through a ceasefire, which was broken just days later. It was the Balkans war.
