The Church offers both the best and the worst of worlds. On the one hand, it attracts people who are truly contrite, who exalt the Lord in their lives, and seek to walk faithfully and selflessly. On the other hand, it may offer worldlings prizes greater than the world can give. One can be a hero in the Church -- for forgiving the unforgivable, for claiming to cast out demons, for singing the minister's praises, for saying eloquent prayers, for being a Somebody on the team, and so on -- while the heart may be dark, and actions without fruit. The Church brings out both the very best and the very worst in people. OBSERVATION: And ultimately, this all revolves around whether people have truly found salvation, or not.
