There was a movie in South Africa, of a wedding between a Jewish man and a Black woman -- called
I Now Pronounce You Black and White. That movie humorously highlights the cultural clashes -- however, it waters them down. I have a special esteem for interracial couples -- because I know they are no ordinary people. I mean those couples who are still steeped in their original, centuries-old cultures. It is not just a matter of reconciling everyday differences, but of blending things that run very deep, such as one's concepts of time, possessions, privacy, the other world, and so on.
Adaptable is the word that comes to mind.
OBSERVATION: But this, in a strange way, makes things easier, too. Differences are easier to identify and accommodate.
