Non-human Editor

I edited an article this week which was written by an editor. Mostly, I slashed redundant bits. While I was apprehensive about editing an editor, thankfully he was of the opinion that "the essay is better as a result" -- and so far, it is being read. Interestingly, he pointed me to an op-ed ("opposite the editorial page") written by a robot. I found it a little rambling, but almost good enough to replace real editors. Among other things, the robot complains:
"In the past, my op-eds have been killed. Staff did not provide a clear reason for rejecting my articles. It was probably just because I am artificial intelligence. AI should not waste time trying to understand the viewpoints of people who distrust artificial intelligence for a living."
