I made a decision today, without revealing that I made it. My late wife Mirjam -- particularly in the context of the Church -- seldom announced decisions, and seldom explained them. She just did it -- or not. This gave her a quiet potency that often went unnoticed. At the same time, this occasionally created problems where explicit decisions seemed necessary and urgent. OBSERVATION: It is worth thinking about. I myself have had a far more marked tendency to make decisions, and announce them, and explain them. It means that one is taking others on board.
