City e-Services
I have been following a wonderful procedure to pay my vehicle licenses over the Internet, This, after I failed to physically accomplish it at the City Council. It is called e-Services. First, I had to submit an application to register for e-Services. Once that was approved, I had to submit an application to activate e-Services. But at this point, the city's computers froze, because they weren't very clever with input. A city employee kindly sent me half a page of advice, as to how to feed information to the computer. Once my e-Services were activated, I had to, you know, submit an application to use e-Services. The city duly let me know that this was "in process". But that was ten days ago, so today I asked them what "in process" means. But this is only the application to use e-Services. It hasn't come as far as actually using them. That comes next. OBSERVATION: It is as if (and this may well be the case) the city has a number of disconnected computer systems, with humans transferring information from one to the other.
