The Chinese produced a new digital storage oscilloscope, the Mustool MT8208. They modestly call it a "graphical multimeter". It seems to me to be a tenfold improvement over what one could obtain one year ago -- per dollar. Yesterday I put a digital mixer through its paces, using diodes to mix digital signals. This is a standard technique. My two oscillators reached 5 MHz, but my mixer refused to go faster than 50 kHz. Thanks to the MT8208, I could view my mixer breaking down in slow motion. It was, I guessed, the diodes. I snipped the diodes, and did something I have never seen before. In no time, I pushed my mixer past 500 kHz, and the actual performance of my circuit doubled.
