My co-editor just had another book published (pictured). The first review of his book is a mixed one though prestigious. I am in between with my book (and he has incidentally advised me generously). I have run the course of literary agents, but it is far too soon to say that this phase is closed. Some have given my manuscript high praise. An agent in New York is busy with it now. Most responses are still pending.
OBSERVATION: I shall probably take a brief pause, reassess things, seek advice, and above all look at the manuscript with fresh eyes. One special challenge of a metaphysic (there are a few) is that, unlike other books, not every chapter can be a bomb, but each one must be integrated with the whole. Readers tell me, though, that there isn't an uninteresting chapter.
