Playing Open Cards
Throughout my minsitr(ies), we had a policy that, if the minister was accused of some impropriety, he (which is me) informed the Church immediately, through the Church diaconate. This is something that a certain apologist did not do, who is now in the news. On one occasion, I was asked to sign a secret confession. It was bogus. I said tell it to the Church, and let me answer to it. Why do you want to keep it secret? OBSERVATION: A difficulty with this policy was that, in some cases, I did not yet have a defence. For instance, in 2004 I was a suspect in an investigation. Then my name was dropped from the list.
