Paywalls and Safety

I have various issues with paywalls -- one of them being personal and community safety -- or loss of it. Someone was exposed to poison here in the "outback" where I am now, and took very ill. Was it the poison that caused it? I found the first reference to the poison in Noseweek, in an exposé. I clicked on it, and up came a paywall: "Like to see more? Subscribe ..." My Internet access was fast ticking away. I found another reference in News24. They wrote that the substance was "extremely poisonous and can be fatal to humans". In this case, they did not put up a paywall, as they often do. The first safety sheet I found claimed that there was no available information on its effects on humans.
