Storm's River Snake

A brother-in-law told me this story. At Storm's River in the Eastern Cape, a trial was to commence in the magistrate's court. In the final bustle before the trial began, someone threw a big puff adder into the mix. There was pandemonium. People ran for the exit. The magistrate left his seat, and caught the snake with his hands. An officer of the court stamped on the snake's head and killed it. The trial was postponed. OBSERVATION: A clever idea. A snake will pass through a court's metal detectors.
