It is well known that ministers are "an insurance risk". In the UK, for instance, standard advice is that ministers should not wear clerical collars. Personally, I think that the risks are indeed raised. There were a few dangerous moments for me in ministry. On one occasion someone brought a gun onto the Church premises, vowing to "get" the minister. On another I suffered concussion when an adherent of another religion attacked me. And there have been dangerous call-outs and encounters. OBSERVATION: Not only in my case. I know other ministers with hair-raising stories. My own father, a minister, walked with a stick because he was attacked on a call-out.
