Do doctors "kill patients"? Several times in ministry, I have come across the death of a patient which was almost certainly due to a doctor or nursing sister. Here is one example. An old man fell in his lounge, and hurt himself. The doctor checked him out, and said he had a broken rib. But the doctor missed the fact that the rib had punctured a lung -- and the old man died. OBSERVATION: Of course, doctors save a great many patients. In the above case, the family said, It happened, just let it be. That often happens, particularly in cultures where death is viewed more as a part of life.
POSTSCRIPT: My late wife Mirjam lost her father through a doctor's error. Her father had a burst appendix, but the doctor mis-diagnosed it.
