I said to wife E, “In a worst case, they (the publishers) will give me 2-3 weeks to do the indexing." Which is, indexing 100,000 words for a metaphysics. It’s a worst case. OBSERVATION: There is a limit as to how far one can work ahead with indexes, since one needs to see the final manuscript to do it correctly. But if I hadn't done a lot of preparation ahead of time -- as I did -- I would now be "sunk". I have completed an index of names, but that was the easy part. It's the index of subjects which is the challenge. The good news is, things have progressed as far as the final manuscript -- the one which will go into production.
