Kiribati Song

I stumbled upon this today -- a song which my grandfather wrote down on a visit to the Southern Gilberts in 1966, where our family lived at the time. It is about a young man who visits a neighbouring island, and falls in love with a woman -- but her family despises him. He departs with a broken heart. OBSERVATION: Wife E tells me that this is common in her own culture -- namely that a suitor from another clan may be despised. Back in that time, locals asked my parents about the vocabularies on neighbouring islands. What words did they use for this, for that?
