Invention 39: Reflecting Sundial
I have put numerous inventions (in my mind) on this blog, which I believe would be viable. Here is the latest, which I believe to be original -- I find no such idea on the Internet. It follows from designs I published many years ago. Imagine a room with a white ceiling -- or better, a museum hall with sunny windows or apertures, facing (in the northern hemisphere south) east and west. Now place a reflecting arrow, facing upward, in these windows -- the reflection of which is focused -- and draw a chart on the ceiling. In a best case, one will be able to show the time to within one minute.
