Resolution of Illustrations

My artist (I am writing a new, "concretised" metaphysics) went to an art shop in Cape Town today, to ask for maximum resolution scans of her work. One sees their maximum resolution on the left. On the right one sees the minimum resolution accepted by U.S. publishers. OBSERVATION: I have experienced this with some Western magazines. The resolutions they require are way beyond what one normally uses -- or is even able to use -- in Africa. Often it simply isn't necessary -- although here one sees the difference.
