Digital Watch
Digital watches are all the rage now -- for example the Apple Watch. I wore the first truly popular digital watch, the Sinclair Black Watch, which was launched in 1975. One pressed a plastic panel on the front to briefly illuminate a LED readout. I continually adjusted the trimmer capacitor (on the right here) in a vain attempt to make it tell accurate time. Perhaps it was influenced by the temperature. My watch finally failed when the plastic failed, which did not take long. OBSERVATION: My father joked that, one day, one would find digital watches in lucky packets. This in fact happened.
