Something has changed. Early in our marriage, ten years ago, wife E and I seldom -- in the city -- encountered shock over our interracial marriage. In the country, though, this was common. Now, it seems common in the
city. We may find that people react with obvious shock a few times a day.
OBSERVATION: According to a thesis by Amoateng and Heaton, about 1.5% of marriages in South Africa are interracial.
