A vibrant Church gets driven into the ground. Naturally, this is not the fault of those who drove it into the ground. Therefore they determine that this Church would
anyway have been driven into the ground. It has no future, therefore it needs to be sold, or its doors closed. A milder version of the same: it is what it is now, and one accepts the predicament.
OBSERVATION: Such thinking often seems to be special to the Church. In business, people are generally held responsible, and tend to get sacked.
