$200 Workhorse

I bought myself a "military spec" Asus computer this week, running Chrome. A township electricity supply seems to have blown out my old computer -- a fine Lenovo, running Linux. I bought the Asus because of its compact size, and because it is advertised as "Linux Ready". The price, too, is low, at little more than $200 in Cape Town. I was unable to run Chrome and Linux in parallel: this presented me with numerous problems. I could, however, run Linux inside Chrome, as supported by the manufacturer. This is a curious situation: Mickey Mouse Chrome, running powerful Linux inside. While I have not worked everything out, I have worked out enough to see that this is a serious computer. $200 for a capable workhorse.
