Prevailing

I have studied both local and global leadership at postgraduate level. A frequent mistake that American theorists make is to assume that a solid character protects one against attack. It does not. One simply needs to point to the example of Jesus to cast doubt on that idea -- yet one also sees the problem clearly in the literature. Related to that, a frequent mistake is to assume that a solid character enables one to prevail against attack. Again, it does not. I would think it is faith which enables one to prevail -- if that should be God's will. Again, one simply needs to point to the example of Jesus to illustrate this.
