Symbolic Things

This post represents an observation rather than a criticism -- different Churches do things differently. A certain Church announced that a service was to be replaced by a (I call them) Church Meeting. In practice, it would make little difference whether a service is so replaced or not. Yet in my own Churches, it would not have happened, on principle. Services are outreaches, not in-house occasions, therefore they cannot be replaced for in-house reasons. OBSERVATION: Unless, of course, the Church Meeting itself is an outreach. Many such symbolic things happen in Churches, which most people would not recognise.
