* The one exception is where I was accused repeatedly of being mentally unwell because I took a Black wife. My accuser has since passed on, where she can explain it to the Lord.

‘Not Entirely Well’
A feature of my life is that people keep feeding defamation back to me, which they picked off the rumour mill. This morning, someone wrote, "It really does seem that you are not entirely well. I had heard that but chose to believe for the best." This is a rumour that has gone round without explanation, *except in one case. Some obvious questions would be: Who diagnosed the illness? What is the diagnosis? But nobody has ever offered one -- in fact there isn't one. It is, unfortunately, defamation. I ran it through AI. AI concluded that "accusations about someone’s mental health, even casually, are rarely defensible and can backfire socially or professionally." In fact I am well, I am sane, I am happily married, I am gainfully employed ... I wrote back, "It is important that I should be in a position to address it (the rumour)." If they are not willing to open up about the source, that would be mauvaise fois, and I shall likely take action.
