This morning I stumbled upon photos of 2005, of a Church Supper. These were typically crowded out, as one sees. It is a sign that things are humming. But apart from this, I think that a few things make such suppers work. Good catering of course. Taking prior bookings. A consistently good spiritual programme. And (seriously) generous servings of pudding. OBSERVATION: I notice, as I look over the photos, that guests were moving around a lot. Also, one sees here two trends of my longest ministry: a downwards age trend, and broadening multi-culturalism.
