Someone asked me once to describe what shapes my ministry -- how it looks in practice. I once described it as follows:
• We seek to serve the Bible “neat” (as in “neat” whisky), and to take it as our basis.• We seek to have a priesthood of believers, where all are fully entrusted with ministry.• We are governed by the members -- a direct democracy under Christ.• We seek to be a complete family, holding together all differences, whether age, culture, status, even language or denomination. And ...• We are not into branding, targeting, strategising, and so on, but seek an organic development through the Spirit.
OBSERVATION: The rest springs from the above. Each of these points has been opposed at some stage of my ministr(ies) -- but together, as a "platform", they have made for thriving Churches.
