Rain Near Cape Town

This is our little house in the country, before it got very far. The sound that accompanies it (click on Play) is rain on Friday last week: ten seconds’ recording under the roof, and ten seconds near the ground. Such rain seems unusual, since Cape Town – about 100km / 60mi west as the crow flies – is in the grip of a serious drought. The city has little time left before (we hope not) it runs dry. OBSERVATION: I have heard a few people say, particularly of the working class: “What did Cape Town do?”
