World Englishes

It used to be called the Queen's English. Now one speaks of World Englishes. My wife speaks a World English, and there has been a lively debate as to whether this is English, or just a mistake. The fact is, millions of people speak what my wife speaks. OBSERVATION: It has a curious grammar -- somewhat distant from the Queen's English. Naturally, I love it. It is said to have Shakespearean remnants, too -- perhaps from missionary influence.
