Lion's Head And History

This is a footpath at the foot of Lion's Head, a peak which I see outside my window now -- said to be the most spectacular climb in the world. It was very popular this weekend, with the super-moon rising over the city. OBSERVATION: There are some interesting things here, historically. The granite on the right is where the Spanish carved a cross in the 15th century. The tree on the left is one of a kind that Huguenot refugees brought here in the 17th century (the seeds were edible). Behind my camera there is a 19th century Muslim kramat, or tomb, painted white, green, and gold. Lion's Head inspired a design for a sundial which was published at Yale. If it were done, it would be the most visible sundial in the world.
