Much Potential

I once met Rev. Dane Sherrard (pictured). He took over a small village Church which seemed to have minimal potential, and ended up with a massive influence, worldwide (see Luss Parish Church). This serves as a reminder, I think, that any minister's influence may be considerable, even if it is not as he or she ever expected. OBSERVATION: There must be the spiritual substance which drives the influence. That comes first, and God uses that. Rev. Sherrard harnessed the power of the Internet -- however ministers are influential in various ways. One receives visitors from all the world who return to their home towns and countries. There are those who are converted, or simply strengthened spiritually, who influence countless others. There are daily signs that the Holy Spirit is alive and at work in people's lives. In short, one need not be downcast about what seems to be little potential.
