The Ivy Lee Method

For many years I have regularly set aside time to write up a to-do list. This is so whether I am "in harness" or not. Long after I started the habit, I discovered the Ivy Lee Method, which is similar. Charles M. Schwab reportedly paid Ivy Lee (today's sum) $400 000 for the benefit it brought his company. It involves prioritising six tasks for the next day, in order of importance. I also prioritise tasks like this. While there may be 100 on the full list, there typically are ten or less prioritised. OBSERVATION: Such a list is very useful. Apart from giving me -- of course, a sense of priority -- it gives me a sense of direction, and jump-starts me in the morning. I know exactly what to do.
