Tearful Counselee
I don't "go back" on a counselling session: "Did I say too much? Too little? Were those the right words? Are they distressed? Are they OK?" and so on -- unless people approach me. Sometimes this can be a little hair-raising. I was told that one counselee cried for two days after one of my sessions (which is not common). But I let them be. It need not be a bad thing. Not only does one get worrisome tears; one gets healing tears. Happily, in this case, a week later the counselee was in much better shape than before the tears. A minister friend commented: "I like your style. Good on you!"
