Christmas Here
There is a basic difference with regard to how Christians spend Christmas here. It would seem to come down to whether they belong to a family or a clan. If it is a family, then the family tends to be nearby, and there is a Christmas meal and a modest gathering around the Christmas tree. If it is a clan, then the patriarchal / matriarchal home tends to be situated in towns or rural areas, and everyone descends on one home, perhaps for a fortnight, crowding it to the doors. And there is feasting. Twenty or thirty guests would not be uncommon. The clan, too, may be more likely to worship on New Year's Eve than on Christmas Day.
