Giant African Millipede

At this time of year, millions of these creatures (pictured) cross the road in the Karoo semi-desert. It is an impressive migration. They are the Giant African Millipede. They may grow to be more than a foot long. Some people keep them as pets, although they irritate the skin. They are fast-moving creatures, so this was a lucky shot.
