The Post Office: Oh No

Oh no. I visited a South African Post Office this morning. We all know that things are bad. For a start, they are under liquidation. The whole place was dark -- but it was open. I adjusted my eyes to the darkness. I could see no one there. I called out, "Hello? Good morning!" The postmaster appeared -- apparently the only one holding the fort. I said, "Is there load-shedding (a blackout)?" He said, "There is, but there isn't right now. We have been cut off." Ah, a question of (not) paying the bills. He switched on a smartphone light, and propped up the smartphone strategically. With a small pool of light, then, in cavernous darkness, he attended to my business. I said, "How are you coping?" He smiled, and said, "I remain positive."
