“My Turf”

I watched an interview today in which a woman spoke of meeting her rapist in the street – shortly after he had been put away. He had been released on probation. I was once hit on the side of the head by a man in the street, outside the Church. He told me to get off his turf, and I told him what I thought to that. The police said to me afterwards, you what? I saw the most beautiful deep blue lights. The doctor said it was concussion. The police arrested him. But the next day he was back, telling me it was his turf. OBSERVATION: This kind of thing was an ongoing struggle in urban ministry.
