
In city ministry, while I was growing older, the Church was growing younger. The graph shows age groups in the Church in 1994 and in 2007 (over 13 years). The colours represent, from the bottom: children (red), youth (yellow), young adults (green), middle aged (blue), and elderly (magenta). It would surely be true to say that most Churches struggle with the green band, perhaps all the more so in urban areas.
OBSERVATION: The trend continued in the years that followed. I put it down to ... Congregationalism.
