Every Church will vote at some time or other. And the result of a vote, on the face of it, is simple. Yet one will inevitably find that there are people who read meanings into votes. "No, she didn't really mean that when she voted," or "When I pressed him, he actually voted for that," or "We had a Yes vote indeed, but actually it was a No vote." Votes need to be accepted at face value, or one is headed for the quagmire. Votes are votes,
and one doesn't "break one's head" over the personal insides of them.
It is a given, of course, that reasonable effort is made to share
information and reach well-thought-through decisions. OBSERVATION: In fact in the Congregational Church, reading meanings into votes is ruled out, as (quote) "the findings [of meetings] are those which Christ imparts." That is at the level of the Church Meeting. I myself have taken it to apply to other meetings, too.
